Willow Yurt

Family sized Yurt sleeping a maximum of 6 guests with all the creature comforts for your home from home.

About Your Yurt

Willow is our greenest of Yurts with an ingenious composting loo. Bask in the morning sunlight through an open oak stable door and four picture windows.  All by itself on the west of the field you can be totally alone to enjoy to the fresh morning breeze, birdsong and the rustle of the leaves.

4 single beds

A luxurious double bed, and four single beds complete with large dining table and indoor kitchen. Fresh linen and chest of drawers makes your rural retreat a home from home. Willow’s extra thick natural wall insulation, fully carpeted floor and the warmth of a wood burning stove will keep you blissfully cosy.

  • We had a great stay. Rachel and Charlotte were fantastic and really helpful. The yurt was plenty big enough for three grown ups and 15month old twins. Clean and tidy area. Very quiet and lots to see and do in the area. Will recommend and would love to go back.

Really beautiful spot! We thoroughly enjoyed our time there. The 3 kids enjoyed the table tennis and fairy area by the creek especially.
The check-in instructions on Airbnb need to be updated - led to some confusion and frustration. Info folder in the yurt also needs updating - most instructions were for old/different equipment. Also we had SUPER squeaky door which meant everyone was woken up for night time toilet trips. And we seemed to be missing an outdoor kitchen station which the other yurts seemed to have and would have been a nice addition.
That aside we had a really nice time. And Mo was really really lovely and looked after us so well.

Wonderful experience. Our Yurt was clean, well equipped and the addition of our toilet and shower was fantastic. Spent lovely evenings by the fire pit provided and the BBQ. Mo the site manager was exceptional, evening providing ice lollies at one point. Nice walked in the immediate area. Would recommend for a chilled weekend.

Fun weekend for the kids. A very gentle intro to camping/the outdoors. Great hosts and nice to get away from the usual routine.

  • A group of friends and I all had a great stay at the yurts. We had perfect weather. Yurts and the bathroom all had great amenities and very cosy! Yurts were all very spread out so couldn't even see any other guests. And they were in a beautiful countryside setting!

Fantastic experience, perfect for children's first experience of camping or getting back to nature with a few conveniences (like a dry yurt, as it rained almost constantly over our stay, save a few sunny hours!) - indoor log burner was excellent! Private bathroom hut is very nice to have, with warm running water. Beds very comfy and good to have blankets. Bring plenty of torches as it gets too dark to read inside and solar powered lighting is installed but won't last forever! And bring wellies as the field is beautiful but very dewy in the long grass even on sunny mornings. Lovely quiet campsite, lots of privacy and hosts / site manager Rach are very helpful. Highly recommend!

Superb, secluded place only a stone's throw from London. Utter peace and tranquility. Our three boys all under 7 had a smashing time with loads of space to play in. The steam collection nearby waas ace too! Very welcoming hosting too. Really enjoyed it.

Frequent Questions

How many yurts do you have?

We have just 5 yurts at Night Pastures. Beech & Oak sleep 4, Chestnut, Willow and Redwood sleep 6. The yurts are spaced some distance (50-100m) apart with Beech, Chestnut and Oak down one side, Willow on its own on the other and Redwood in the middle (between Beech and Willow).

What are the Bathroom facilities?
Beech, Oak, Chestnut and Willow all have their own private bathrooms a couple of meters outside the yurt. These are fitted out to hotel standards with a hot shower and flushing loo. We provide Faith in Nature toiletries and fluffy towels for every guest. Redwood shares its bathroom facilities with the Campers but still includes hot showers and a composting loo. Guests staying in Redwood need to bring their own towels.
What are the Kitchen facilities like?

Beech, Oak, Chestnut and Willow all have their own covered, outdoor field kitchen a couple of meters from the yurt with gas burners, grill, sink for washing up and work surface. A large ice-box keeps all refrigerated items cold and fresh ice bricks are available daily. The yurts are fully equipped with all the plates, cutlery, glasses, utensils, pots and pans you will need for your stay. Redwood has use of the communal camp kitchen but is provided with all the same equipment as the other yurts. There is a picnic table outside each yurt as well as an indoor dining table in case it’s raining. Each yurt also has its own BBQ and BBQ packs are available to buy from the local pub.

What about Campfires?

We think campfires are essential for any glamping holiday! There is a large communal stone fire pit between Beech and Chestnut Yurts and each yurt has its own fire bowl. You will be provided with logs for the internal wood burner and additional logs for campfires can be purchased on site at £10 per bag. Please be careful to keep the fire pit away from the Yurt and control the fire at all times. Please note that there is no smoking or naked flames inside the Yurt.

What about Electricity & WiFi?
As an off-grid site, all of our electricity is solar powered. There is internal lighting and a socket inside each yurt which can be used to charge a phone but please remember that if you charge 6 phones on cloudy days then you may not have lights in the evening! Sadly solar does not produce enough power to run a hairdryer. There is mains electricity in the shop and we will happily put your phone on charge for the day if necessary as well as provide power for essential medical equipment. A stay at Night Pastures is all about switching off so we have consciously decided not to offer WiFi to our guests however there are 3G and 4G signals in parts of the field so you won’t be completely cut off.
Is there Parking?

Parking is available in the field adjacent to Night Pastures and access to the yurts is via a short walk across the field. You can unload your car in the drop off zone by the gate where you will find wheelbarrows to help you move your luggage. Once unloaded, we ask that you move your car back to the main parking area to the right past the garages. We have a couple of disabled parking spaces available for the less mobile. Please note that in order to preserve Night Pastures unique environment and meadow habitat, parking next to your yurt is strictly prohibited.

Is Early Check-in & Late Check-out possible?
Our check-in times are staggered to reduce congestion in the drop off zone and you are welcome to check-into your yurt from 4pm. A 2pm early check-in can sometimes be arranged in advance but there is a £25 charge for this service. To ensure that other guests are not disturbed, we do not allow check-in after 9pm. We respectfully ask that you are punctual at check-out so that we can get the yurts ready for the next guests.
Do you have a minimum stay?

All of our yurts have a 2 night minimum stay and 3 nights over a bank holiday weekend.

Will I be cold?

There is a handmade wood burning stove in each yurt which will be prepared ready for your arrival. Within the cost of your booking, we provide a bag of logs, kindling, firelighters and a lighter. Additional bags of logs can be purchased for £10 per bag.

Are Linen and towels included?

The beds will be freshly made for your arrival with sheets, duvets and pillows.  Towels and a bath mat are also provided for guests staying in Beech, Oak, Chestnut and Willow. All bedding is changed at the end of your stay but if you need it changed before then, please contact the site manager who will arrange it for you. Additional charges apply for extra linen
