Oak Yurt

Couples and small family sized Yurt sleeping a maximum of 4 guests in snuggly comfort and style.

About Your Yurt

Natural light spills through an open oak stable door and three picture windows.  Sit back and listen to the sounds of bird song and the rustle of the leaves in the morning breeze.  Breathe deep as the fresh air fills your lungs.

What’s inside

A luxurious double bed, and two optional single beds complete with fresh linen and chest of drawers makes your rural retreat a home from home. On those rare occasions when the sun doesn’t shine, the natural insulation of wood floor, wool rugs and the warmth of a wood burning stove will keep you blissfully cosy.

  • We had such a wonderful time visiting the yurt. Beautiful secluded location, privacy and space for us to enjoy family time. The kids were thrilled to be able to run around and loved the cosy yurt. Great having a proper bathroom with lovely hot shower and toilet rather than sharing with others. We would definitely return as it’s a wonderful break from city life and very close to London. Lots to do in the local area too.

What a lovely spot. We enjoyed 4 days with our two young children, in our first yurt experience. Very comfortable, cosy, clean and well equipped. A really friendly reception. Very impressed and we would definitely recommend.

  • 10/10 would do again. The place is absolutely gorgeous and we were fortunate to have plenty of sunshine when we stayed, which really accentuated the scenic backdrop. The outdoor area was perfect for when it was warm during the day, and there was plenty of cold water to drench ourselves in to cool down and in the evenings the significant temperature drop could be compensated with the ever so useful and nifty wood burning stoves in yhe yurt. The kitchen was fully equipped and came with all the utensils/cutlery you may need. Charging points for phones are available in the yurt, however one needs to be clever to find the right spot for a strong signal - however the break from constant notifications was a delight in itself. I would wholeheartedly recommend everyone experience this.

An experience we will never forget! Our first time in a yurt and we will definitely return! Rachel was an amazing host, she had a lot of time for us and shared a lot of knowledge with us! She taught us how to make the fire which came in very handy! Thankyou very much! We stayed in oak x

This was our second trip to the wonderful Beech yurt and, this time, we rented a second yurt too for relatives visiting from overseas. Despite being really unlucky with the weather (it was pouring rain!) we were snug and cosy inside our yurts and, when we did venture out, we managed a lovely, muddy walk around Fernhurst with a pub lunch at The Red Lion (cannot recommend the Sunday lunch highly enough - be sure to book in advance). We were the first visitors of the season, so there were a few teething problems with one of the showers, but Rach was quick to sort out the problem. Thank you Rach (and Max) for your hospitality. We hope to return in the sunshine!

  • Rachel was very welcoming and helpful! We absolutely loved the yurt and weekend on the farm! Yurt, kitchen and bathroom were clean and the bed super comfy. Surrounding landscape and villages are beautiful - just perfect for longer walks. Would definitely recommend, especially to families with younger children!

Great place to stay specially with kids. Our kids love the dell with the little shallow stream and the tire swing. And we loved the wide open spaces, conmecting to the elements and the little luxeries the yurt had. Fabulous stay.

We stayed here while we were at Goodwood FOS and it was a fantastic place to relax after the noise and bustle of Goodwood. Id recommend calling before arrival to get directions as difficult to find !

  • We had a lovely time in the oak yurt, very peaceful, just want we wanted, everything we needed was there, the log burner heated the yurt just right, the toilet /shower room was nice too.
I would definitely recommend staying here.

Well equipped yurts in the most idyllic setting. It felt like we could step away from the daily grind of life and enjoy nature. Loved the field kitchen and wood burning stove for cooler evenings. The pasture is so beautiful to look out on. Lovely for families too.

Me and my boyfriend had a incredibly relaxing 2 night stay in the Oak Yurt in October half term. The Yurt was perfect, really cosy once the fire started. A beautiful area with gorgeous country walks to be taken. A perfect place for a relaxing short stay.

Frequent Questions

How many yurts do you have?

We have just 5 yurts at Night Pastures. Beech & Oak sleep 4, Chestnut, Willow and Redwood sleep 6. The yurts are spaced some distance (50-100m) apart with Beech, Chestnut and Oak down one side, Willow on its own on the other and Redwood in the middle (between Beech and Willow).

What are the Bathroom facilities?
Beech, Oak, Chestnut and Willow all have their own private bathrooms a couple of meters outside the yurt. These are fitted out to hotel standards with a hot shower and flushing loo. We provide Faith in Nature toiletries and fluffy towels for every guest. Redwood shares its bathroom facilities with the Campers but still includes hot showers and a composting loo. Guests staying in Redwood need to bring their own towels.
What are the Kitchen facilities like?

Beech, Oak, Chestnut and Willow all have their own covered, outdoor field kitchen a couple of meters from the yurt with gas burners, grill, sink for washing up and work surface. A large ice-box keeps all refrigerated items cold and fresh ice bricks are available daily. The yurts are fully equipped with all the plates, cutlery, glasses, utensils, pots and pans you will need for your stay. Redwood has use of the communal camp kitchen but is provided with all the same equipment as the other yurts. There is a picnic table outside each yurt as well as an indoor dining table in case it’s raining. Each yurt also has its own BBQ and BBQ packs are available to buy from the local pub.

What about Campfires?

We think campfires are essential for any glamping holiday! There is a large communal stone fire pit between Beech and Chestnut Yurts and each yurt has its own fire bowl. You will be provided with logs for the internal wood burner and additional logs for campfires can be purchased on site at £10 per bag. Please be careful to keep the fire pit away from the Yurt and control the fire at all times. Please note that there is no smoking or naked flames inside the Yurt.

What about Electricity & WiFi?
As an off-grid site, all of our electricity is solar powered. There is internal lighting and a socket inside each yurt which can be used to charge a phone but please remember that if you charge 6 phones on cloudy days then you may not have lights in the evening! Sadly solar does not produce enough power to run a hairdryer. There is mains electricity in the shop and we will happily put your phone on charge for the day if necessary as well as provide power for essential medical equipment. A stay at Night Pastures is all about switching off so we have consciously decided not to offer WiFi to our guests however there are 3G and 4G signals in parts of the field so you won’t be completely cut off.
Is there Parking?

Parking is available in the field adjacent to Night Pastures and access to the yurts is via a short walk across the field. You can unload your car in the drop off zone by the gate where you will find wheelbarrows to help you move your luggage. Once unloaded, we ask that you move your car back to the main parking area to the right past the garages. We have a couple of disabled parking spaces available for the less mobile. Please note that in order to preserve Night Pastures unique environment and meadow habitat, parking next to your yurt is strictly prohibited.

Is Early Check-in & Late Check-out possible?
Our check-in times are staggered to reduce congestion in the drop off zone and you are welcome to check-into your yurt from 4pm. A 2pm early check-in can sometimes be arranged in advance but there is a £25 charge for this service. To ensure that other guests are not disturbed, we do not allow check-in after 9pm. We respectfully ask that you are punctual at check-out so that we can get the yurts ready for the next guests.
Do you have a minimum stay?

All of our yurts have a 2 night minimum stay and 3 nights over a bank holiday weekend.

Will I be cold?

There is a handmade wood burning stove in each yurt which will be prepared ready for your arrival. Within the cost of your booking, we provide a bag of logs, kindling, firelighters and a lighter. Additional bags of logs can be purchased for £10 per bag.

Are Linen and towels included?

The beds will be freshly made for your arrival with sheets, duvets and pillows.  Towels and a bath mat are also provided for guests staying in Beech, Oak, Chestnut and Willow. All bedding is changed at the end of your stay but if you need it changed before then, please contact the site manager who will arrange it for you. Additional charges apply for extra linen
