Couples and young family sized Yurt sleeping a maximum of 4 guests in snuggly comfort and style.
About Your Yurt
Natural light spills through an open oak stable door and three picture windows. Sit back and listen to the sounds of bird song and the rustle of the leaves in the morning breeze. Breathe deep as the fresh air fills your lungs.
A luxurious double bed, and two optional single beds complete with fresh linen and chest of drawers makes your rural retreat a home from home. On those rare occasions when the sun doesn’t shine, the natural insulation of wood floor, wool rugs and the warmth of a wood burning stove will keep you blissfully cosy.
What a lovely little getaway retreat, the location was just fabulous. We had great sunshine all weekend and it was just so peaceful sitting out listening to the sounds of outdoors. The yurt itself was perfect, had everything we could have possibly needed. The bed was comfy with soft pillows and extra blankets for those chilly nights, the log burner made it feel very cosy when the sun went down, the fairy lights gave it a beautiful magical effect, it was just what a weekend away from the busy working life is all about. It had all the cups and mugs we needed plus a stove kettle, plates, cutlery, pans, chopping board, everything that you need basically. The bathroom was one of the nicest campsite bathrooms we have been in, spacious with a working toilet, sink and shower with lovely hot water, also providing towels and toiletries. The outside cooking area was just spot on, had a large bbq, gas stove and sink with washing up facilities. Also provided us with a outside log burner and logs to burn. The site manager Rachel was lovely, helping us transfer all our stuff to and from the yurt and providing us will fresh ice coolers every morning for the massive ice box they provide, it was also rather reassuring that she and her family lived on the field next to us incase of anything we needed. Overall we had an amazing time and would definitely recommend it to everyone.Annabel5/13/2019
We thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay here with our two children (2 and 5 years old). Everything we needed to be comfortable while still feeling like a bit of an adventure. Great for some quiet, back to basics family time. Many thanks for making us so welcome 🙂 🙂Melissa4/16/2017
We had a wonderful time at the Oax Yurt and would highly recommend it. The beds are really comfy and the wood burner kept us cosy and warm, while the kitchen was well equipped with all we needed to have a great barbecue one night. There are lovely walks to do on the farm and we spotted a lot of wildlife -you truly feel like you are surrounded by nature... all the while having lovely fresh sheets and fluffy towels in the brand new bathroom!
Charlotte was very helpful and found a local bike company who hired us brand new bikes and dropped them right to the door of the Yurt, and Rachel who checked us in was really friendly. Thanks for a wonderful time, we will be recommending you to our friends and may even be back ourselves!Charlotte5/27/2014
Beautiful location, secluded and peaceful. The yurts are well equipped and comfortable. Be sure to follow the directions given as this is hidden away and the sat nav doesn't bring you to the field. We got lost and thankfully were guided in by phone but the signal was intermittent, I was glad we arrived in the light. Top tip is to bring your wellies as the yurts are in a field and you will have wet shoes if wet or in the dewy morning. We enjoyed the fire pits and log burner and had the sun shone for us this would have been idyllic.Julia8/09/2017
This was truely a very nice experience! Camping in this type of Mongolian tent is superb!!! It's beautifully made and very romantic out on the country side with hardly any one in the neighbourhood.
With a clear sky millions of stars!
Rachel was there to say hello and show us around and she's a very sweet women and helpfull.
It's a great place to stay with friends and (small) children!
We had a wonderfull two nights stay and certainly will come back!Marjolein7/15/2014
We had a fabulous 2 nights stay with our two boys (5 and 6 yrs). They loved the Yurt - as did we and the great tree swings by the duck pond. Wonderful. Very peaceful, beautiful walks nearby too. The yurt was amazing. The log burner fantastic and the shower hut next door clean, with plenty of hot water. The outdoor kitchen was fun and had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend it. The only thing I can think of to improve the experience would be to have a small 'porch' area at the door of the yurt which would allow you to keep the half door open without the rain coming in - yes - we even loved it when it rained as it was super snug inside listening to it and we were as warm as toast with the log burner. Thank you Charlotte.David8/12/2014
What can I say. Idyllic location, quiet and fully back to nature.
The Yurt was spacious and clean. The oven was the perfect size to add a little warmth in what was never really a cold evening, but it took the edge off, until I made it too hot! Not complaining, fully my fault.
The camp kitchen and grill were ideal for our 5-night stay. The field was flat and felt huge. This gave the impression of a lot of sky, both for blue sky and sunny days, but also star-filled nights.
The bathroom was excellent and spotless.
This was our first experience in a Yurt and we can honestly say it was the most relaxed we had been for ages. As hosts Charlotte/Bozhanka and Rachel were great.
Finally...the bed. Totally awesome and comfortable. Our one pet peeve in life is when we spend money but cannot (Website hidden by Airbnb) such problem here. The bed and mattress were great. Excellent choices made.
Thank you for giving us a taste of nature and some simple life. Very comfortable, very relaxing and thoroughly recommended.Alen7/23/2018
This place is amazing! Everything we needed was there- the kitchen area was great for evening BBQ 's, the yurt was so cosy with the wood burner, the bed was incredibly comfortable, the firepi outside was spot on and the bathroom was really clean and great that you have it to yourselves!Sarah9/01/2018
This was our second trip to the wonderful Beech yurt and, this time, we rented a second yurt too for relatives visiting from overseas. Despite being really unlucky with the weather (it was pouring rain!) we were snug and cosy inside our yurts and, when we did venture out, we managed a lovely, muddy walk around Fernhurst with a pub lunch at The Red Lion (cannot recommend the Sunday lunch highly enough - be sure to book in advance). We were the first visitors of the season, so there were a few teething problems with one of the showers, but Rach was quick to sort out the problem. Thank you Rach (and Max) for your hospitality. We hope to return in the sunshine!Ali4/09/2018
