Natural light spills through an open oak stable door and three picture windows. Sit back and listen to the sounds of bird song and the rustle of the leaves in the morning breeze. Breathe deep as the fresh air fills your lungs.

What’s inside

A luxurious double bed, and two optional single beds complete with fresh linen and chest of drawers makes your rural retreat a home from home. On those rare occasions when the sun doesn’t shine, the natural insulation of wood floor, wool rugs and the warmth of a wood burning stove will keep you blissfully cosy.

Check Availability

Beautiful location, secluded and peaceful. The yurts are well equipped and comfortable. Be sure to follow the directions given as this is hidden away and the sat nav doesn't bring you to the field. We got lost and thankfully were guided in by phone but the signal was intermittent, I was glad we arrived in the light. Top tip is to bring your wellies as the yurts are in a field and you will have wet shoes if wet or in the dewy morning. We enjoyed the fire pits and log burner and had the sun shone for us this would have been idyllic.

Rachel hosted us, and she was lovely. We were made to feel especially welcome on a special occasion, and she had some great tips for us on where to go and what to see.

The Yurt itself was great and came fully equipped with everything you could need, including a firepit outside which was great when the sun went down. It is a in a quiet little field off a country road, and although there are other yurts in the field, you are quite a distance away and you still get plenty of privacy.

We went to the Duke of Cumberland pub while we were there, and I cannot recommend it enough for the food. The meal was fantastic, and the walk there was nice too (although I'll admit we got a little lost!). It's a little pricey, but well worth it.

The only thing I would say is that we found it hard to get taxis that would take us to or pick us up from the Yurt. It is a little out of the way, and most taxi firms told us it wasn't profitable to pick us up, so just make sure if you're not driving, to get a couple of numbers off (Hidden by Airbnb) beforehand, as we couldn't get mobile data in the field.

Overall a great time, something a bit different but only an hour away from London - we would 100% stay again!

We had an awesome weekend in the yurt - it's in a huge field with amazing views and it's super quiet. We even saw a baby deer! It is also brilliantly set up with everything you could possibly need, and Rachel was so helpful too. We'll definitely be back! Would be a great place to go with 3 families as 3 of the yurts are in a row (but not too close, there's still lots of privacy).

We had a fabulous 2 nights stay with our two boys (5 and 6 yrs). They loved the Yurt - as did we and the great tree swings by the duck pond. Wonderful. Very peaceful, beautiful walks nearby too. The yurt was amazing. The log burner fantastic and the shower hut next door clean, with plenty of hot water. The outdoor kitchen was fun and had everything we needed. We would definitely recommend it. The only thing I can think of to improve the experience would be to have a small 'porch' area at the door of the yurt which would allow you to keep the half door open without the rain coming in - yes - we even loved it when it rained as it was super snug inside listening to it and we were as warm as toast with the log burner. We had a 3 night family mini break at the magically named Night Pastures. What a tonic. The yurt was set well apart from the other yurts and tents giving a lovely feeling of space and privacy. It was the ideal place for the children to run around and explore safely. The beds were comfy and the en suite facilities great - amazing you can get instant hot water that far down a meadow!
We also bought the half board food pack from the local pub which was delicious and made life much easier. The countryside in which Night Pastures is located is just gorgeous, yet it is an easy drive from London. We would definitely return.

Rachel and Charlotte made us feel very welcome and Rachel checked in on us every morning and brought a fresh supply of logs! The setting is idyllic and peaceful. The yurts pure outdoor luxury; clean, comfortable and well equipped. Charlotte delivered a fantastic yoga and meditation session for us which set us up for the day. I'd suggest calling for clear directions prior to arrival as the telephone signal is weak and it's not the easiest place to find. We had a wonderful stay and would definitely recommend Night Pastures.

What a lovely spot. We enjoyed 4 days with our two young children, in our first yurt experience. Very comfortable, cosy, clean and well equipped. A really friendly reception. Very impressed and we would definitely recommend.

Bed was a little uncomfortable and the other yurts are closer than you might like if you're up for some seclusion.

Frequent Questions

How many yurts do you have?

We have just 5 yurts at Night Pastures named after woodland trees. Beech & Oak sleep 4, Chestnut and Willow sleep 6. The yurts are spaced some distance (50-100m) apart with Beech, Chestnut and Oak down one side, Willow on its own on the other and Redwood in the middle (between Beech and Willow).

Extra Guests? Redwood can accommodate up to 8 guests – please contact us at CampHQ@nightpastures.com if you would like to bring a couple of extra friends with you.

What are the Bathroom facilities?

Beech, Oak, Chestnut and Willow all have their own private bathrooms a couple of meters outside the yurt. These are fitted out to hotel standards with a hot shower and flushing loo. We provide fluffy towels for every guest. Redwood shares its bathroom facilities with the Campers but still includes hot showers and a composting loo. Guests staying in Redwood need to bring their own towels.

What are the Kitchen facilities like?

All of our yurts have their own covered, outdoor field kitchen a couple of meters from the yurt with gas burners, grill, sink for washing up and work surface. A large ice-box keeps all refrigerated items cold and fresh ice bricks are available daily. The yurts are fully equipped with all the plates, cutlery, glasses, utensils, pots and pans you will need for your stay. There is a picnic table outside each yurt as well as an indoor dining table in case it’s raining. Each yurt also has its own BBQ with glamping food available to pre-order from the local pub.

What about Campfires?

We think campfires are essential for any glamping holiday! There is a large communal stone fire pit between Beech and Chestnut Yurts and each yurt has its own fire bowl. You will be provided with logs for the internal wood burner and additional logs for campfires can be purchased on site at £10 per bag. Please be careful to keep the fire pit away from the Yurt and control the fire at all times. Please note that there is no smoking or naked flames inside the Yurt.

What about Electricity & WiFi?

As an off-grid site, all of our electricity is solar powered. There is internal lighting and a socket inside each yurt which can be used to charge a phone but please remember that if you charge 6 phones on cloudy days then you may not have lights in the evening! Sadly solar does not produce enough power to run a hairdryer. There is mains electricity in the shop and we will happily put your phone on charge for the day if necessary as well as provide power for essential medical equipment. A stay at Night Pastures is all about switching off so we have consciously decided not to offer WiFi to our guests however there are 4G and 5G signals in parts of the field so you won’t be completely cut off.

Is there Parking?

Parking is available in the field adjacent to Night Pastures and access to the yurts is via a short walk across the field. You can unload your car in the drop off zone by the gate where you will find wheelbarrows to help you move your luggage. Once unloaded, we ask that you move your car back to the main parking area to the right past the garages. We have a couple of disabled parking spaces available for the less mobile. Please note that in order to preserve Night Pastures unique environment and meadow habitat, parking next to your yurt is strictly prohibited.

Is Early Check-in & Late Check-out possible?

Our check-in times are staggered to reduce congestion in the drop off zone and you are welcome to check-into your yurt from 4pm. A 2pm early check-in can sometimes be arranged in advance but there is a £25 charge for this service. To ensure that other guests are not disturbed, we do not allow check-in after 9pm. We respectfully ask that you are punctual at check-out so that we can get the yurts ready for the next guests.

Do you have a minimum stay?

All of our yurts have a 2 night minimum stay and 3 nights over a bank holiday weekend.

Will I be cold?

There is a handmade wood burning stove in each yurt which will be prepared ready for your arrival. Within the cost of your booking, we provide a bag of logs, kindling, firelighters and a lighter. Additional bags of Additional bags of logs, kindling and firelighters can be purchased on site.

Do you allow dogs?

Sadly, Dogs are not permitted in any of our glamping options
